Depending on the need, the model can run on your own hardware, a dedicated server or a controlled private environment. The key is who can access data, models, logs and settings.
Is local AI automatically compliant?
No. Local hosting improves technical control but does not replace a legal basis, purpose assessment, permissions, documentation or human oversight.
Do I need new hardware immediately?
Not necessarily. The assessment looks at data volume, answer quality, users, protection needs and existing infrastructure first.
